Beyonce Inspires Paul McCartney

Paul McCartney is influenced by Beyonce. The 71-year-old singer/songwriter makes a point of checking out the live shows by current chart artists because he wants to make sure his own concerts don't seem "old fashioned."
"If I'm gonna do a tour I like to go and see what other people are doing. I don't wanna bring my tour out and be amazingly old-fashioned. So if people are going, 'Oh man Beyonce, she was killer!' I like to go there and go, 'Yeah, we can do better than this.'"

Britney Spears Thought Her New Video Was Too Racy
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Gossip, Music Videos, Pop,
As fans all over go gaga over Britney Spears' latest music video for "Work B***c," it has forced the pop star herself to question her hypersexual image.
In a recent interview with a Boston radio show, the mother of two commented on her experience in the editing room for the making of the music video: "Oh my god, we showed way more skin and did way more stuff for the video then what is actually there. Like, I cut out half the video because I am a mother and because, you know, I have children, and it’s just hard to play sexy mom while you’re being a pop star as well."

Lady Gaga will headline the first ever YouTube Music Awards.
The "Bad Romance" hitmaker will join Arcade Fire and Eminem on November 3 at the inaugural event which will honor artists who have shared their work through the popular video-sharing website.
"It's our chance to really celebrate the artists and the songs that have become hits on YouTube over the past year," said YouTube's vice president of marketing Danielle Tiedt.
There will be a number of performances taking place across the globe - including Seoul, Moscow, London and Brazil - before a live 90-minute show which will be streamed from Pier 36 in Manhattan, New York City.
Director Spike Jonze - who has worked on videos for a host of top artists including Weezer, P. Daddy, the Chemical Brothers, Bjork and R.E.M. - has been cast as creative director for the production and is looking forward to working with the talent. "Instead of bands performing to an audience on a stage, we're going to have a warehouse with all these different sets and try to make live music videos throughout the night. The idea is let's get a bunch of interesting artists together and have a night that's all about making things," he said, according to the Los Angeles Times newspaper.

Paul McCartney to Collaborate with Thom Yorke?
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Collaborations, Gossip, Alternative, Rock,
Paul McCartney is being advised by his daughter to collaborate with Thom Yorke. The Beatles legend has been urged by Stella to work with the Radiohead frontman but he admits, despite being keen, he is afraid the 44-year-old singer will turn down his offer because his schedule is too hectic to fit him in.
"My daughter Stella is very keen. She's got a project, she keeps saying to me, 'Ring Thom and just go into the studio and just see what you come out with.' I'm a bit sort of paranoid to just ring him up. 'Hey Thom, it's Paul here. What do you fancy, what are you doing? Do you fancy writing something?' Just in case he says, 'Er, actually I'm busy.'"

Britney Spears Video Banned in UK
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Gossip, Music Videos, Pop, New Releases,
Britney Spears' "Work Bitch" video has been banned in the UK.
The song not only sees the star say the word "bitch" 19 times, but also displays it written in neon, as well as numerous racy scenes featuring dancers being whipped and in bondage gear, making it unsuitable for broadcast by British TV stations before 10pm. While channels have called for a "clean" edit of the video to show in the day, so far Britney's people haven't decided if they will provide one.
"While the video has gone down a storm online, it's a bit too much to play on TV. Music stations like The Box and MTV have their hands tied," a source said.
Not all the tracks on Britney's forthcoming eighth album will be so racy, as she has also co-written an "emotional" ballad called "Perfume" with Sia - who has been behind hits for Rihanna, David Guetta and Flo Rida - about her life. "'Perfume' is a really personal track and very emotional. This is the first album Britney has completely co-written. It's all about her feelings and experiences and she's very proud of it," the source added.
Mel B. hopes the Spice Girls will reunite again next year. The America's Got Talent judge is eager to perform with her former band mates, Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton and Mel C. again but hinted they may be so keen on the idea.
The 38-year-old star told The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Friday, "I'd love to do it. I'm going to make it happen one day. I'm hoping in the next year or two, when everyone's cleared their diary a little bit. I'm hoping. They're going to kill me for this. I'm saying it but I have to go and ask them all. I'm in so much trouble."

Nirvana were renamed The Simon Ritchie Bluegrass Ensemble when they recorded In Utero.
The In Bloom grunge band were so famous after the success of their second album Nevermind they had to be booked into a studio under a secret name to make its follow up.
Brent Sigmeth, who worked at Pachyderm Studios - where the album was recorded - knew something was up the minute a bluegrass outfit were booked in: "Immediately we were suspicious. Eventually we figured out it had to be Nirvana. I still had to go to the airport and hold up a sign which said 'The Simon Ritchie Bluegrass Ensemble.' Then I clocked Kurt [Cobain] and Krist [Novoselic] walking off the plane and kinda just waved them down and told them I was their ride."
The band had rehearsed meticulously for the sessions and Brent says they were very focused during recording of the album at studio, located the tiny town of Cannon Falls, Minnesota. "Everyone seemed really prepared. Like they knew what they were going to do. Kurt did most of his vocals in two or three takes. I think it was a happy time for them. For the first week it seemed really down to business and everyone was having fun eating good food and making music. The first thing they played in the studio was 'Scentless Apprentice.'"
Lindsay Lohan Inspires Elton John

Elton John says Lindsay Lohan inspired one of his new songs.
The "Candle in the Wind" hitmaker admits the title track of his new album, The Diving Board, which deals with the subject of success at a young age and the perils of fame, was written with the troubled Mean Girls star - who recently completed 90 days of court-ordered rehab - in mind.
"It could be a summation of my career because it's about young people becoming successful and diving off into the unknown. What's going to happen? Are they going to survive it? Are they going to become victims of their own success? Are other people going to prey on them and destroy them? You could actually say it's about me, but I was thinking about Lindsay Lohan when I was writing it."

Nicki Minaj Sued Over Starships
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Industry News, Hip-Hop & Rap, Pop,
Nicki Minaj is being sued for copyright infringement over her hit song "Starships."
Musician Clive Tanaka has filed a lawsuit against the rapper, producer RedOne and songwriters Carl Falk, Wayne Hector and Rami Yacoub, claiming they copied "substantial portions" of his song "Neu Chicago" for the chart-topping single, which reached number two in the UK last year. The mysterious electronic artist, who has never revealed his real identity, had attorney Christopher Niro file legal documents on his behalf in Chicago court yesterday.
"Neu Chicago" has amassed 100,000 listens on YouTube and was licensed for two major television adverts in Scandinavia. The lawsuit alleges RedOne, Carl and Rami, who have all lived in neighboring Sweden, had "a very good opportunity" to hear the song.
According to the Chicago Tribune newspaper, Niro contends, "We believe [the songs] are similar to the point that it is nearly impossible for it to be a coincidence."

Miley Cyrus Feels Emotionally Exposed in New Video
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Music Videos, Videos, Pop,
Miley Cyrus felt very vulnerable while filming her new music video. The 20-year-old singer, who is engaged to The Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth, appears naked in the video for her new song "Wrecking Ball" but claims she was more nervous about exposing herself emotionally on camera.
"I think the video is much more. If people get past the point I make, and you actually look at me, you can tell I look more broken than even the song sounds. The song is a pop ballad that everyone can relate to; everyone has felt that feeling at some point. If people can take their minds off the obvious and go into their imagination and see what the video really means, it is so vulnerable. Actually, if you look at my eyes I look more sad than actually my voice sounds on the record. It was a lot harder to do the video than it was to record the song. It was much more of an emotional experience. I was actually panicking last night because I felt like, for me, with 'We Can't Stop,' there was all this anticipation and all this time to build up to this one single. I have been so busy right now with 'We Can't Stop' still doing what it's doing and catching fire not just in the states but all over the world...I feel like I have so much going on."
